About

My name is Whitney
I’m a writer/poet based just outside of Seattle, Washington. I enjoy writing poetry and fictional short stories that will one day be best-selling novels. 🙂
I began writing in my teens, and have written off and on since. I was always drawn to poetry, but I was overwhelmed because I felt that if I didn’t write in a certain style that it wasn’t “good.”
In July 2022, I went into recovery from alcohol addiction. I wrote poetry again to distract myself from the cravings during detox and to cope with the flood of emotions I had pushed down for several years with alcohol. Putting my poetry out into the world has been instrumental in my healing and recovery.
Eclectic Poetry by Whitney
My debut poetry book, “Eclectic Poetry by Whitney”, was my stepping stone into the self-published literary world to be brave, vulnerable, and strong. It is a collection of thought-provoking poetry that evokes emotion within its reader and is a mix of free-form and rhymed poetry using the power of brevity to convey deep thoughts with few words.
The Poetry is Not Dead podcast read a few poems from Eclectic Poetry by Whitney.
I am honored that it has gained traction and fallen into the hands of so many people. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.
Confessions Under Cratered Moons: Poetry of Cosmic Chaos
My second poetry book, “Confessions Under Cratered Moons: Poetry of Cosmic Chaos,” I dive into what it means to be human in a world of pain, hook-up culture, love, and loss. This book covers a variety of themes, such as love, loss, betrayal, pain, hope, despair, eating disorders, addiction, and domestic violence.
The Poetry is Not Dead podcast read a few poems from Confessions Under Cratered Moons: Poetry of Cosmic Chaos.

I want to show the world that poetry is not dead. I want my work to be authentic and relatable. I hope to inspire others to try their hand at poetry and writing.
The more hands that hold my books, the greater reach my words can achieve and the louder my message can be heard.
Thank you for your support!
